Meet Janet Elaine
"Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve known I wanted to be a writer. I loved how words could translate my thoughts so others could step inside my wild imagination. Through writing, I could travel back in time to worlds I had never known, explore ideas far bigger than myself, and make sense of the emotions that shaped me."

Words are powerful, they change things.
Choose your words wisely.
Janet Elaine
"As I grew older, that love of language became something deeper — a way to connect, to teach, and to empower. Today, I write to make complex topics feel accessible, to help others find their voice, and to remind readers that stories have the power to change how we see ourselves and the world."
Unnatural Disasters—Coming March 31
COMING SOON
Only On Amazon on March 31
Unnatural Disasters was built with a single goal in mind; to give every reader the knowledge and confidence needed to survive in a world where natural hazards are no longer behaving naturally. Climate change has altered the rules of the game, reshaping storms, fires, floods, heatwaves, and the list goes on—reshaping these events into disasters that strike harder, faster, and in places once considered safe. This book exists because the world is undergoing major changes—and our understanding of disasters must change with it.
Climate change is complex and survival should not depend on decoding scientific jargon or navigating scattered information. Unnatural Disasters breaks everything down into clear, accessible parts—blending storytelling, science, and step-by-step guidance—so you can absorb what matters most without feeling overwhelmed. Whether you are a beginner seeking clarity or someone already familiar with climate issues, this book meets you where you are and takes you even deeper.
What this book does not do is promise to eliminate risk—no book can do that—but it does promise to empower you with the knowledge that turns readiness and confusion into action. By the time you reach the final chapter, you'll understand how having a plan in place is no longer optional—it is essential.
"Because it isn’t “if” a natural disaster will affect you֫—it is “when.”"
-Janet Elaine
Excerpt from Introduction Unnatural Disasters

My Obligation to My Readers
My deepest obligation to readers isn’t perfection—it’s presence. It’s showing up with honesty and intention. It’s offering words that respect their time, honor their intelligence, and speak to their spirit. Readers trust me with their attention and their emotions, and it is my responsibility to meet that trust with integrity, compassion, and purpose.

Writing with Purpose
I write to guide without preaching, to illuminate without overwhelming, and to create space where readers can see themselves more clearly. It’s to write with courage, to revise with humility, and to remember that every page is a conversation between my heart and theirs.
And at the center of it all: to keep writing in such a way that lifts, steadies, and inspires—because someone out there needs the words—I hope I can give them those words that they long for.

I Do Thank God
"I thank God every day for the second chance at life He has given me. I recognize that each day is a gift. Life isn’t always easy — but if every day were good, we would never understand the beauty of goodness itself. One teaches us to appreciate the other."

“Have no fear, for fear is only a shadow—one that can hold you back only if you allow it. When you choose courage, even quietly, you step into the light that was always meant for you. You are held by something larger than fear—call it grace, call it love, call it the quiet strength within.”

Doing What I Love and Loving What I Do
"There is a quiet radiance in doing what you love—work becomes breath, and purpose becomes joy.”
Educator
"Every writer begins somewhere. I’m honored to walk beside those discovering their voice."
I offer private tutoring lessons to a wide range of learners, from curious grade‑school students discovering the joy of language to college‑level writers refining their craft. My instruction spans English, Writing, and English as a Second Language, and I meet each student exactly where they are. Whether I’m helping a young learner build confidence with sentences or guiding an adult writer through complex ideas, my goal is simple and always the same: to make language feel accessible, empowering, and alive. Every student brings the world a different story all their own, and I consider it a privilege to help them shape that story onto the page for the world to read.
As an educator my motto is simple: Be the Box. Follow the link below to learn more.
Ordained Minister
"Once a wanderer, now a witness. I walk beside others as they seek the peace that found me.”
I come from a family shaped by faith—my grandfather pastoring a small church in Bessemer, Alabama, and my father serving as an ordained deacon whose voice could move a room to tears. Even with that legacy, I spent years running hard in the opposite direction, convinced I could outrun God. But grace has a way of finding us right where we are. When I finally stopped long enough to listen, God met me on that open road and walked me home.
Today, as an ordained minister, I offer prayer, support, and spiritual clarity to anyone seeking peace, direction, or a renewed sense of God’s presence. If you have a prayer request, please scroll to the bottom of this page and share it with me and our prayer circle. It would be my honor to lift you up.
Freelancer
"Passion makes even the smallest task shimmer with meaning."
Until my writing fully takes flight, I also work as a contractual freelancer, offering the skills and knowledge I’ve gained throughout my career. I develop curriculum and medical content, transcribe audio files, and translate medical documents with accuracy thanks to my background in medical terminology. I also analyze workplace practices—policies, procedures, incident reporting, healthcare facility (HCFA) surveys—and write person‑centered care plans, providing clear, thoughtful recommendations to strengthen healthcare environments. In addition, I’ve supported communities in creating climate action plans, helping them prepare for the days ahead with resilience, clarity, and intention.
